It's a solution for a flaw in the rear gearbox.
A single screw should keep down all the force from the idler gear beneath it... On a spot that's already vulnerable to deformation - like on this vintage gearbox : In the end it'll break and the gears will lift so I'm redirecting (and deviding) the force. I'd probably have to find a vice like yours locally because of shipping cost. But I'd love to have more of a workshop... |
