Monster Beetle resurrection 13 years 6 months ago #98

Howdy

This is a great site! Brings back tonnes of good memories!

My kid dug out my old Monster Beetle from the store room. Its in pretty bad shape, the rear arms are broken. Left rear wheel disintegrated. The left front suspension support broke at the wheel axle assembly.

I looked at some Ebay listing and was shocked to see the asking prices for a new kit. I give myself a couple of months to slowly rebuild the old Monster beetle. Fortunately, the gear box is still sound and good.

Anyone has an old set to let go? Please let me know.

Cheers.

Hi there,
Welcome to TamiyaBase.com!

A new Monster Beetle kit is very expencive. The MB kit is one of the most popular ones, so prices are high.
You can however get/use many parts from the 2005 rerelease of the Frog.
Also, the Monster Beetle tires are still available from Tamiya, so they are not too expencive.
And, if you keep an eye on ebay, you will find the other parts you are missing

Good luck with the hunt, and let us know how you do..
