Cheers Jim, I find the vintage stuff doesn’t seem to be as desirable these days. No idea if that’s correct, but I feel people have moved on a bit.
Personally I prefer the older models. I think I’m reliving my youth.
I do like some of the new models like the Fiat 131 and that new Opel Kadett.

Totally agree with you Al, part of this whole fascination is the memories of yesteryear and the fun we had as kids.
I do like the new chassis and body combos that Tamiya comes up with.

My first ever Tamiya was the Sand Rover, I think back in 1983. Any way I’ve got a fair few spares still stashed away, so when I saw the price dropped on this chassis I thought I’d get it.
Apart from the usual suspension mount break, the rest is in good condition and will clean up a treat.

I’ve got a spare re-re Sand Rover shell, so I’ll probably fill the holes in it and put it on this chassis at some point.

Here’s a very expensive can of stupidly expensive limited edition Tamiya PS dark blue paint for the Fiat 131, not available to the UK market ????
The big dilemma is do I use it or sit on it for 20 years and sell it for a thousand pounds ( seriously only joking ).
I think this job has jumped up the list on the body work to do list, can you imagine trying to use it in say 5 years time and it had gone off or can didn’t work !!!!
The pressure is just going to be ridiculous.

To put this in context see my previous comment in the “ what did you do today “ thread.

A couple runner Wheel and Tire sets from JC Racing, a nice little TEU-302BK ESC for a project, and . . . a new in bag King Cab Chassis!

Something arrived today while I'm wrapping up the CAD work of the Hunter / Galaxy project...

Marui Hunter 1/32

That thing is really tiny...

Well, can I really wrap up my Hunter project without taking care of this tiny guy? It seems we are playing extended time now :-)
I buy kits to built and ru(i)n them :-)

Woo Hoo, a success story from Tower, finally!

* Honored "lost" Loyalty Points from previous deals gone wrong - Check
* March 15% off code worked on Tamiya kits - Check
* Shipped and received within three days from ordering - Check
* Order status showed as "shipped" and tracking number - Negative (but emails were sent alerting me that something was on the way - no way to tie it to the order # however)Almost feels like the old days.

Almost.
