The paint code in the instructions says
TS 12 which is orange.
But I’ve always seen the Rough Rider more of a red colour and definitely not the same as the Sand Rover which uses the same colour.

In this picture with the particular lighting, I would agree. In person, it's very much red and confused me.

I kinda like it red and might just go with it. We'll see who wins - the box or the instructions - when the time comes, LOL

Todd, I’d go red if I was you, I think it suits it.

I think this will be mostly a shelf queen, so I might just go lazy and buy a really nice painted body (I think I may have seen a member here paint really nice bodies for these?) and then I could paint up the kit body for runner duty and not mind terribly if it comes out poorly.

 
A small bit of excitement today, the original speed controller to go in my Tyrrell restoration when ever I get round to it.
When that time comes I think I’ve got everything I need.
 

The boss of the paint is Jonny retro. 
he painted a lot of RR bodies. I prefer the blue version. Or an idea, you could paint the left side in red and the right side in blue. And you have the 2 versions. 😁
