@Stingray - I reckon that truck is an after market shell to fit an SRB. You can see the marks on the rear for the cut out for the roll bar and radio switch.

My "mystery" shell turned up on Saturday. After looking at it more closely, I reckon it is a circa 1975 Chevy (Chevelle) Laguna S-3 as driven into the swimming pool on the Cannonball Run:

The front grille and headlights are quite distictive, as are the small "Opera windows" in the back (painted in on my shell).

So what are you going to do with it then? strip and custom paint or just use a runner body? :)
If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

I'd like to strip it and give it a proper NASCAR paintjob, or maybe make a replica of the Cannonball Run car. I'm a bit nervous about stripping the paint though

Is it thin and brittle? Otherwise the dot4 method worked well for me on an old body :)

Just popped the shell onto a SRB chassis to see what it looks like.....

... The wheelbase is about 50mm too short. It's 1/12th scale!
