Yeah they do that! If it's gonna crash land in the paint, it usually does it in the most noticeable/inconvenient place too!

I've found with insects (well, greenfly anyway, this isn't going to work with a horsefly ) the thing to do is to leave it a couple of days - the insect will die & dry out, the paint will harden & you should be able to just rub it off & the dimples left by its feet will fill up with another coat of paint.
Try & pull if off wet paint & it'll leave a much bigger mess to sort out |

I just paint outside on a calm day, on top of a cardboard box, with the body propped
up on an upturned ice cream container. Paint it, take it inside to dry, take back outside to clear, wetsand, polish, paint details, done. |
