Wanted: hard case 6v & 7.2v hump pack batteries :) 11 years 3 months ago #18255

Jonny, if you manage to accumulate any "duffers", ie they arrive looking like they're not worth the effort to do the conversion, don't bin them, give me a quick shout first as I might be interested, ta

Sorry chap, little chance of that - all the ones I've got so far have been pressed into service, even the one from Martin that made me suspect there's a badger missing an badword somewhere out there ;)

Not to worry, just thought I'd raise awareness that any old badger-bits are useful to me

I did think you might be interested in the Ni-Cd cells out of the old packs, but so far I don't think I've found a single one from the 9 packs so far that isn't rusty, overheated or vented

still waiting for some 2S low voltage warning buzzers to arrive, and trying to find some 1S-capable buzzers (Hobbyking list some, but they're out of stock) before using them, but I've got 5 humps & two 6v flatties finished, complete with reworked labels ... I'll write this up as an article for the front page :)

V Cool!
How did you manage to split the cases without them cracking in places other than the desired split line?

Top plan! I'll have to remember that one. Doesn't that case problems with the cases getting smaller? (Cos you're removing material). S'pose not if the guts are something different!
Are you gonna do any with that swanky fuel cell inside? (Fuel cell powered brushless Sand Rover, oh yeah...)
