What's bad is I saw a Tamiya 58307 (m-04m chassis) Alfa romeo GTA there for $50 which I'm now considering too.

New ESC and motor arrived today.

Also stripped the entire TA01 down to individual pieces and screws, working my way upwards again cleaning and making a list of "will need replacing soon" parts, the front gearbox is the first major complete section i am done cleaning/re-greasing.

Left damper - before
Right damper - after

The now-clean damper in that picture must has suffered a harsh impact at some point because the main rod was bent and preventing proper movement, after some time on a vice and pin hammer its now straight again, i am trying to avoid going too nuts on the change-it-for-new temptation, and sticking with changing only the wheels, tires, speed controller and body...... for now.

Hey, matching motor mount. :silly:
I that is an aluminium pinion and you plan on running it (especially with that motor), it would probably be wise to go for steel.

I believe it already is steel! Feels too heavy when removed to be ALU
Yeah no idea on the color either, since that part was inside on the red rear gearbox.
I can't seem to find a single model or picture of this greeny yellow front gearbox anywhere!

I had only seen limited edition stabilizer sets in that yellow color so far...
But this guy Tizer (I actually know him, he's a walking Tamiya encyclopedia) seems to have most of the other parts for your car :

Went to another thrift store and, completely unintentionally, found some op-590 ball joints in a "everything 100yen" bin, even though they were marked as 300y on the old sticker and 500y on the original card.
But more importantly, i chanced upon a compatible, unused body, complete and boxed for 500 yen! (ball joints and the boxed body came to $6 basically).

Blue model spray isn't tamiya brand and is slightly lighter blue than suggested but it's the color im going for!

I am reminded a lot lately of why I like Japan so much.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)
