Yep, an on road front shock tower should work fine. :y:
Only thing is you'll have to use a "noseless" shell (so cut it off if it's not a TF)...

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)

Crap, those GPM motor mounts are really becoming a nuisance.
Plan was to take off the silvercan on the Humvee to replace it with the CR-Tuned.
But yet again one of the pins got stuck in the gearbox...
Apparently the thread lock sipped through the wrong way on one side.
Luckily I solved it this time with regluing (using J-B Weld steel epoxy) instead of mutilation.
From now on I will fuse the parts permanently this way before fitting any alloy motor mount again.
If I don't go for a one-piece specimen like waterbok's...

Anywho, moving on. Had a plan for a Mark II gearbox bracket for a while.
As a reminder, this is Mark I :

Using the wrong side of my brain, I placed the hole nicely in the middle last time :

But forgot to account for the bit on the side so that actuallly makes it 2mm off.
A good reason to use my drill standard (not owning a vice for it yet) :

Besides a more accurate fabrication, I'm adding a spacer and washer :

Spacer was ordered for this purpose - to perfectly match :

On the left - the reglued motor mount while drying... :S

Working on that rear gearbox, I noticed a small crack on another screw hole.
And I killed the thread on the one remaining one (there's only three screws on top).
The gearbox is from the original Manta Ray I started this thread with...
So I'm gonna use some more steel hardened epoxy here and there.

:pinch:

Maybe you've done too much torque on the screw to fix the gpm mount at the chassis? You can use a needle-nosed pliers with some cloth to loose it without damaging it.

Btw, want to see some horror-pictures? Beware, you have to have a strong stomache ;) img.photobucket...C/mrp8.jpg
