That's truely a Frankenray. Not even a bolt of ligtning should bring that one alive.
It was really a matter of the threadlock getting in the wrong place on one side of the motor mount pins this time. That fixated the screw on the outside more than the one that kept the mount together. Thought I had been patient enough with letting it dry but apparently not... It's permanently welded (and detachable from the gearbox again) now though. |

Ah, Edou. I saw a rear ta01 gearbox which was drilled through and using a nut on a screw instead of those tapping screws. On my BF, the tapping screws leaving more and more. Mostly i'm using nuts but the weight doesn't care on the BF.

That's not a bad idea either.
I just noticed I did not only kill the thread inside that hole - even more so the whole thingy is cracked on the outside. So putting in a screw makes the hole slightly wider... I'll take a picture of it. |

It's cracking 'cause of tapping!
It's like a woodscrew in wood. Every time you're loosing and fitting it, the hole get's wider. A screw thread of metal is the best you can have, if you're working many times on it. Also you can build into the plastic a winding. |

Yes, helicoils like I did on the steering. Drilled one of the holes in two phases - after self tapping more epoxy needs to be mixed for further repair : |
