Thanks, quite happy with the J-B Weld though. Worked well on the body shell too.
And I'm gonna have enough of it for a while...

Made some serious progress! Rewired the CR-Tuned and ran in the brushes (no water this time) - among other things.
A dry run like this is actually stated in the leaflet that came with the motor :



Nevermind the unsophisticated setup. Result was excellent.

Making sure the motor is tightly fitted to the gearbox...
On the left funkindemup's suggestion - a machine screw and lock nut instead of a self tapping screw :



And of course the Mark II bracket, now with washer en spacer :
