thnanks for the tip tamiya nut.i didnt know bleach would strip paint,hows it done? do u use a bleach bath or just a coat and for how long?
i guess i should start the rebuild,so i started with the msc so i could get all the servos and elictrics together before and after pics it was fairly manky in places and not to bad in others |

Not wanting to tread on TN's toes, but the plating on fox wheels is so poorly stuck that anything moderately caustic (e.g. a bleach solution, well diluted caustic soda, running them in a dishwasher (really) ) ... a quick squirt (50ml?) of bleach in a bucket with enough warm water to cover the wheels would be a good place to start.

Like Jon says if you pop them in a cup of bleach they should take 5-10 mins for it to all be gone i did it with an old set of monster beetle rims and the bleach took all the remaining gold off they where like a new set of blackfoot wheels underneath nice easy one

cheers tn,at least there will be on easy thing on this project
im really enjoying doing it though i had to change my antenna wire,i used 7/2 hook up wire. badly kinked and cracked,and it was only about 12 cm long if your working on micro electronics always earth yourself so you dont damage your components,static electricity will fry anything like this |
