Well,Christmas has come early in Sweden! :) I have finally got my grubby mits on the holy grail of Tamiyas,a Blazing Blazer!! :woohoo: O.k it's not the best example in the world buts it's a good unmolested example that should turn out nice with some t.l.c. The body is in good order with no cracks or damage other than light scuffs, the only repair needed is where a previous owner has cut out two square holes to allow the hilux mechanism box lid front mounting posts to stick through, why did he not just remove the un-needed posts???
The mechanism box itself is in excellent condition and the rest of the chassis looks pretty good.
It's a shame the rear lights are missing, rare as hens teeth,i might end up having to make some of those.I think it's going to be a slow restoration as some parts are so scarce (and expensive),i would quite like to fabricate a new roof in stainless steel, well, have a shot at it at least!
Any help from TB members would be greatly appreciated,in particular anyone with a Blazer,if they could provide me with templates for the 4 side roof parts so i have something accurate to work from, also the front shocks are missing, are these the same as SRB front or rear shocks?
Thanks in advance,Steve. :)

A few more pics,i had already obtained the missing gearbox, which i have stripped, soda blasted and is currently dry built, now fully ball raced and with gaskets,a nice Acoms 4 channel has been obtained and decals from Jeremy at digital screen print.

I think i might need to replace the tyres

There's nothing worse than paying out big money for a model only for it to arrive damaged because the seller can't be bothered to pack it properly,i know it happened to me with a Tamiya King Tiger i got from the states, the idiot had put it in a big box with just a few polystyrene chips around it and expected that would be fine for shipping to the U.K,the bloody thing was in pieces!
