Not quite sure what you mean Edou, but I'll help you understand if you want. ;)

Made some spring holders last night...

I'll finish the spring holders tonight, and move onto the shock mountings...

I meant to say I don't have the skill set for building crawler vehicles...
But I do appreciate the modding it requires. B)

Well, suspension is complete for now, everything works well and now it's time to move on to the body...

Next step now, is to prime and spray the chassis. More soon...

Update...

Striped the axles down, regreased them, and went over all the screws with thread lock. Cleaned everything off with thinners, so hopefully I can spray it tomorrow. Just waiting for the aluminum links my mate is making for me, and the chassis will be 90% complete. I also moved the servo location, and did away with the bell crank from my old Highlift. Anyway, on with the pics...

Made spring holders from some spare irrigation heads:

Some brackets to hold them:

New servo location:

Nice going, dude. :y:
What kind of shocks are the alloys? They look TRF-ish...

Edit - if not Tamiya, I suspect 3Racing.

Thanks Edou, not Tamiya or 3racing. Even cheaper, Hobbyking specials. Cost me $7 a pair if I remember.

Ok, so Olive Drab is the color...

And when it was all dry, I assembled it again...

So, I guess I have no excuses now, I have to start the body now...

Ok, so lots has happened in my life at the moment, my 2nd child was born, work changes, etc. But now I had a bit of a chance to work on the 6x6. This too has taken a slightly different route. The Pinzgauer body is on hold, only because I was to start running the chassis, and I can't do that without a body attached.

So the unimog body will do for now. I did however test the chassis for a couple of minutes, and I noticed the motor and ESC gets a tad warm. So first port of call was to make sure they both get sufficient cooling.

ESC cooling:

Body on:

Progress will be slow, but steady. Basically I'm building a camper section for the back. Future will be a full aluminum Pinzgauer body...
