Hi Andy, cheers for the info. Yes I think you’re right about the wheels being re-re, the car came with 2 different sets of rear wheel adaptors. Plus the wheels are a very white plastic not the same feel as earlier ones. Thanks for identifying the front tyres, I had no idea what they were from. At some point I’ll probably replace those ? All the best Al |

So this lot turned up on the same day as the shocks from Andy.
I was after a pair of rear arms, but got a whole lot more. It even provided the springs for the rear shocks. And so I think we are pretty much there. So now it’s finally sitting on the shocks rather than a plastic pot. Close up of the shocks with springs attached. Nice. So fingers crossed I’m hoping to tidy up the wiring at the weekend. And this is complete as a car. Okay so there’s still work to do. Steering rods need sorting. Chassis will be fixed and sprayed. Driver still to finish. Gear box needs rebuilding following Andy’s advice. But it’s really nice to see it at this stage. Thanks to Martin for selling me the car, Flo for the bonnet and Andy for the shocks. Most of all I’ve enjoyed getting it to this stage.

As seen at the start of this build this above is the chassis I had. I’d got as far as trying to repair it. I’m sure a bit more sanding and a coat of paint would make it look fairly decent. I did however spot this up for sale, it’s an original in very good condition. I’m assuming it was a shelf Queen because there are no marks on it, the under side hasn’t a scratch on it, but you can see where the side pod parts have been removed and there is some colour difference on the plastic.
