Hello, so this arrived last weekend.

There's more than this. It's got the whole front end. Gear box.
I think all I'm missing is the bonnet, rear arms, rear shocks and axles. Plus some arms so the fella can hold the steering wheel. Oh yeah steering wheel !! ( Machine gun is optional ? )
And wheels and tyres, they're quite handy.
But nothing too serious and a couple of you good people have already offered help, thank you.

But to start off with the red paint has to go.

Second cycle of graffiti remover.

And finally the main chassis. So it's got a bit broken off and I've revealed a couple of cracks, but I'm not chucking this. I'm going to fix it and then spray.

You already have the top roof.
I have the«body», and rear shocks for you. But one need real work. The rust soldered on the plastic and the spring need to be replaced. I have to put the hand on.
The machine gun is hard to find....

Hi Flo, thank you. I'm going to clean everything up and work out what I need to buy before taking up the offer.
Just so I don't end up with spares.
I've seen one seller in the UK who sells the B and C parts together, which gets me the bonnet and arms, plus lights.
Cheers, Al

Hi Martin, thanks for the link.
I’ve looked on their site before, they have good prices.
I’m not sure what postage is though to the UK.
It’s probably best if I order a few parts I guess ?
I’m not too bothered about getting just original parts, it has to make economic sense as much as anything.
I’m also discovering that if I keep acquiring parts I end up convincing myself that I might as well build another car ??!
Cheers mate.

A small update tonight.
So another cycle of paint stripping.
The roll cage and small body parts are getting there. I think I’ll have to finish these off with a scalpel.
The main chassis is on its third cycle. But loads more work to do on this.

Another step forward , the bearings arrived today. My first order from rc bearings. Good service.
Hopefully at the weekend I can get the gearbox cleaned up and put back together.

You maybe try sand blasting for the main chassis?

Hi Flo, thanks for the suggestion, but I’m going to keep going with graffiti remover.
I’d have to find someone to do it, I’m sure if I had a load of other bits to do it would make sense to get it done.
Cheers.

maybe try Dot 4 brake fluid as well :) This is a body Manotas stripped with it, His tip was to apply fluid then put in direct sunlight :)

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem mate :)
