Just a quick question.

When using grafitti remover do you brush it on, and leave it for a while, then take a rag and rub down?

I have a few items that I need to get some paint removed.

Caustic soda and Dot 4 brake fluid have to be filled on a can or something, and then delivered at the recycle center after use.
I have no storage place, so grafitti remover seems more logical to me :)

Hi Richard,

The brand I’ve used was “ Mykal - De solv it graffiti remover “, which comes in 200 ml spray cans.

I know Rob and others have used “ Graffiti go “, which looks like it’s also a spray. ( 500 ml - better value for money on cost )

I put the items I’m cleaning in a box, spray and then I leave it until I see the paint start to blister.
Then I put it in a bowl of water with a bit of washing up liquid and use a toothbrush to scrub.

You will probably have to repeat a few times, it really does depend on what’s been put on previously and how much.

To finish off I tend to go in with a scalpel and scrape off any stubborn, awkward bits.

If it’s a body shell I usually use some wet and dry as well to rub/sand the paint off.

Then when your done, tip the bowl down the sink.

Hope this helps,
Al

I haven’t tried Graffiti Go, but I will be giving it a try next time.

That's awesome!
Thanx for the explanation :y:

Not many sells grafitti remover around my area, but I found one shop yesterday that have them at 15 quid for a 400ml spray, that's good price in costly Norway :silly:

Hi Richard,

Check the brand, I once tried one called “ Everbuild “ graffiti remover.

It was rubbish.

I think also check that it’s safe on plastics, the Mykal one says it’s polycarbonate safe.

The brand is Duxola, don't know if it is norwegian or not..

It don't say if it's plastic safe or not, so sent one of the shops a mail and asked if it was ABS and Polycarbonat safe.
Hopefully it is.
Found a shop that sells them 1 quid cheaper than the other

Big sigh of relief, I’ve been hoping to pick up the final bits for this FAV without having to buy a new parts tree just to get a couple of bits.

Fingers crossed, but just won an auction for a pile of Wild One bits.
Amongst which are some rear trailing arms.

Hopefully good enough to finish off this build.

I’m waiting on the last few bits to arrive to finish off the FAV.
But I couldn’t resist getting this out of its box in the garage for a photo.

I like this chassis, judging by some of the great examples out there, there’s a lot you can do with it.
I bought the Wild One over a year ago. It’s probably the most tidy and complete used car I’ve bought. So I’ve never felt in a rush to do anything with it. But it’s nice seeing it next to the FAV.
