hey Edou, got the gearbox mounts today, many many thanks.
the axle springs arrived as well but it looks like on the picture you posted there is a metal rod that goes through the axle. i have found it on ebay so i will have to wait for that to arrive before i can fit it all.

Wow, that looks great!
Very stylish and modern with the white body with only smaller accents of black. Cool :silly:

These would be a necessary addition to the Hornet chassis mounts (rear axle stays) that are coming your way...

So I'd definitely get some - together they will be a good upgrade from the fixed Grasshopper axle.

has anyone got a clearer picture of how these springs fit, and what does it mean by removing a self tapper screw when fitted. what screw?

Your car looks great! B)

Cool that the parts arrived - you're right about the axle. Didn't remember that detail.
Probably would have had that here for you also...

The springs are a bit of a a fiddly job and I don't think there's a better picture of it.
To keep them in place, the self tappers are used and removed after everything's assembled...
You can use some random 3mm screws for that.

This image is the one that's bit more close up and detailed :

Edit : as can be seen on the left, the screws are there to push the springs up so the axle can be placed correctly... :cheer:

hornet rear axle mounts fitted now. the rear suspension feels much better now. more like proper suspension rather than a "hinge" as i have seen it described!

Nice! Very good upgrade. B)
I've had the normal mounts on my Grasshopper break in the middle because of the lack of any suspension...
That won't happen with this set up.

Man, those wheels look cool. Lower picture is literally bling.
And the low profile is a nice detail too. :silly:

now the lunchbox has been sold :( i have a bit of spare cash.
i am thinking the final upgrade for the grasshopper is new shocks all round.
bearing in mind i now have the hornet rear end, can anyone recommend a good (inexpensive) set that will fit?
thanks

How about these for the rear :

You had the lower shock mounts also, right? This set would then fit perfectly. :)

Edit : I see you don't have them. You would need these also...
